For the past seven years El Shaddai Charitable Trust’s has taken a lead in organizing this campaign and its outreach workers have been conducting awareness campaigns in the slums and schools to make not only the children aware about child abuse but the parents too. They also organized the campaign in churches, road shows and public rallies were also conducted across Goa.
On the 19th November the final day program was conducted in Panjim. The public rally was flagged off by Shri Srinivas (Goa Traffic Police Panjim). The rally began from the Kingfisher Circle right up to the Dr Ambedkar garden opposite ktc garden. This was followed by a cultural program presented by the children from the Shelters, Community Centers and home’s of El Shaddai Charitable trust. The chief guest for the function was Shri, Siddharth Kunkolienkar MLA Panjim. Also present were Shri Matthew Kurian – Co Founder El Shaddai Charitable Trust, Shri, Anil V. Pawar (State Project Director Goa Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan), Smt, Anita Spadigam( Dean of Goa Dental Collage Bambolim) ,Mr Dilip Kudalkar(probation officer Women and child development) Smt, Rupa.M.Dalvi ( Child Development Project Officer Tiswadi Panjim Goa),Smt Reema Naik(PSI women cell Panjim) Smt Sudhiksha Naik(PI women cell Panjim) , Shri, Srinivas (Traffic Police Panjim) ,Smt Preetam Naik(health officer Panjim urban health centre),Smt Harsha Naik(Advocate, member of CWC Merces North-Goa)
In his address to the gathering Shri Siddharth Kunkolienkar appreciated the organization for carried out the 7th edition of 19 days of activism international prevention of child abuse. He also mentioned that the NGO’S are taking the initiative of helping the children for a better future. He also released the 7th edition of the magazine Rupa.M.Dalvi child development project officer spoke about the various schemes for children and women under the juvenilia justice act and said that they would also help out in these schemes where the scheme is applicable. In her speech she spoke about the importance of girl child.
Shri Anil.V.pawar he appreciated the work being carried out by el Shaddai charitable trust. He mentioned that the GSSA will look into the scheme to provide for the children and also look into it where it can be applicable to the children.
Adv Harsha Naik member of child welfare committee Merces north-goa she appreciated the ngo She was strongly against child abuse. In her speech she mentioned that child abuse can happen everywhere and anywhere so not only the ngo should take an initiative in observing it but every individual should take the initiative to prevent child abuse.
Shri Matthew Kurian also spoke about El Shaddai’s work and how each child matters. He also appreciated and thanked the dignitaries and sponsors for helping out in the campaign.. The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
