The Chief Minister’s Startup Challenge 2017  was launched by CM Laxmikant Parsekar today.

“With the launch of this startup competition since last year, young Goan entrepreneurs have got the opportunity to show their talent. The aim of the challenge is to encourage entrepreneurs and investment in Goa,”  CM said.

The competition jointly organised by EDC Limited and GSIC is open to tech startups that are currently operating in Goa for the last two years.

The last date for receiving entries is January 16, 2017.

The first winner will be awarded the Chief Minister’s Startup Challenge Award-2017. It includes a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs. The second and third prize winners will get a cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs and 1 lakhs respectively. Further, Special awards will be given to the most promising ideas, even if they are not yet implemented.

The top start-ups identified in this challenge will be put through a rigorous training programme at the Technology Business Incubator of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda. These start-ups will be mentored and supported by dedicated technology startup mentors and will be finally pitching to qualify for seed investment by angel investors.
