Panaji – Goa Union of Journalists(GUJ) met Chief Minsiter Laxmikant Parsekar today and submitted a memorandum to him regarding issues concerning media persons in the state including Housing and Pension Scheme for journalists, rent of GUJ office at Patto to be paid to PWD etc.
GUJ submitted a memorandum to the CM regarding Housing scheme for journalists and requested him to make provision’s for the same in the oncoming Budget session. CM Parsekar discussed different options about the scheme with the delegation and assured them that he will take appropriate positive action on the memorandum.
GUJ also brought it to the notice of the Chief Minister that the Journalist Pension scheme requires major amendments.
GUJ president Sadguru Patil said, “ We have been told that a resolution may come up in assembly on private members day about the pension scheme as notice has been given to legislature dept. through MLA seeking amendments through resolution.”
The issue of rent of GUJ office at Patto also came for discussion. PWD had demanded forty eight thousand rupees rent per month from GUJ for the office at Patto. CM told media person that he has marked GUJ memorandum to PWD recently and that the issue will be resolved at the earliest.
GUJ President Sadguru Patil and members Gerard Dsouza, Sandip Desai , Sanghmitra Phaldesai and Kailash Naik attended meet with CM.
