Feb 18- An 108 ambulance on its way from Sawantwadi to Goa Medical College(GMC) Hospital with patient onboard was gutted in fire at Mahakhajan, Dhargal in the wee hours today. However, presence of mind of the ambulance occupants averted major tragedy. The doctors and driver noticed smoke coming out of the ambulance bonnet. All including the patient were removed from the vehicle which was later driven away to a distance. The ambulance was engulfed in fire few minutes after that.
