Digital Goa, Sep 3 – Archaeological remains dating between the 14th and 16th centuries have been discovered during restoration work at Shree Saptakoteshwar Temple in Diwar, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed.The finds along the old pathway between Koti Tirth and Madhavachi Talli include a Kirtimukh motif, a carved temple pillar capital and parts of Dev Khostam used for placing idols. The remains could indicate an ancient temple complex and sacred corridor and point to successive reconstruction during the Vijayanagar period following the destruction of the earlier Kadamba-era temple, said Sawant.
