Digital Goa, Oct 11 – Total of 16 people lost their lives in road accidents in Goa in the month of September 2023, according to the monthly report released by the Directorate of Transport. Of the 16 deaths, 8 occurred in North Goa and 8 in South Goa. 50% of the deaths i.e. 8 were on two wheelers – 7 deceased were two-wheeler riders and one was a pillion rider. As per the report, 227 road accidents occurred in September, out of which 14 were Fatal Accidents (North Goa – 06 and South Goa –08), 11 Grievous Accidents (North Goa – 08 and South Goa –03), 47 Minor Accidents (North Goa – 17 and South Goa – 30) and 155 Non – Injury Accidents (North Goa – 75 and South Goa –80). 12 people were Grievously Injured (North–10 and South –02) while 82 persons suffered Minor Injuries (North – 31, South – 51). In addition the Directorate of Transport has issued 3,654 challans for the month of September 2023.
