District and taluka-level oil spill crisis management groups constituted
Digital Goa, October 31 – The Goa government has constituted District Oil Spill Crisis Management Groups (DOS-CMG) at the district level and Local Oil Spill Crisis Management Groups (LOS-CMG) at the taluka level under the Disaster Management Act. The DOS-CMG will serve as the apex body in each district to respond to major oil pollution incidents, provide expert guidance, and continuously monitor and record every oil spill occurrence. Meanwhile, LOS-CMGs have been established in all 12 talukas to handle oil pollution cases at the local level and coordinate efforts in planning, preparedness, and mitigation.
