Digital Goa, Aug 22 – South Goa District Court has convicted Shevanti Desai and her son Hemant Desai for murdering their relative Suryakant Desai at Xelvona, Curchorem over land dispute on February 23, 2018. Court will pronounce its sentence in the matter on Aug 24. Suryakants’s murder was the fallout of a family feud over the construction of a compound wall. He was hit with a pickaxe on his head and succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Hospital. While the deceased’s sister-in-law, Shevanti, was arrested by the police the same day, her son, Hemant, was arrested a week after.
