The Town and Country Planning Department has notified 21 zone changes covering 59,671.5 sq m, or approximately 5.97 hectares land across Goa, to settlement under Section 39A of the TCP Act. The plots include land classified as orchard, natural cover, cultivable land, paddy fields, playground and general industry.The notification, dated October 28 and published in the Official Gazette on November 5, modifies the Regional Plan for Goa 2021. The plots are located in Usgao, Sao Jose de Areal, Cacora, Borim, Loutolim, Reis Magos, Morjim, Nadora, Sirvoi, Ucassaim, Utorda and Oxel.The changes remain subject to the outcome of two pending public interest petitions before the High Court.
