Aug 5 – Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai today brought to the notice of the house that under Smart City project 250 CCTV cameras have been fitted across Panaji by spending Rs 250 crores. “This is shocking. It amounts to Rs one crore per camera,” he said while speaking on the demands related to departments under Minister Vishwajeet Rane including Town & Country Planning, Municipal Administration, Women and Child Development and Forests. Rane on his part asserted that Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) is an independent body and he has little say in the decisions taken by them.
