Digital Goa, Jan 16- Nearly 250 to 300 breast cancer cases are recorded in Goa every year, informed Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. He was speaking at a press briefing during the launch of an initiative to provide free anti-cancer medicine Pertuzumab to cancer patients in the state. The drug if administered at early stages can cure cancer completely, he added. DHS will complete screening of one lakh women in Goa for breast cancer by Jan 30, he further informed. Rane also announced that the state will treat 48 hemophilia patients in the state free of cost through CSR initiative with Roche, a Swiss multinational healthcare company . The health minister also informed that govt will treat four Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) patients in Goa free of cost by spending Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore annually.
