Digital Goa, Jan 17 – In all 75,000 people escaped multidimensional poverty in Goa in last nine years states the extrapolated data presented in the NITI Aayog’s Discussion Paper ‘Multidimensional Poverty in India since 2005-06’. The Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) is a measure that captures poverty in multiple dimensions beyond monetary aspects including health, education and housing. Incidentally, as per the report released by NITI Ayog in July 2023 many as 45,564 people had exited multidimensional poverty till 2021. Implying thereby that in last two years i.e. 2021 to 2023 nearly 29,436 Goans escaped multidimensional poverty.
