298 cybercrime cases registered in last 4.5 years in Goa; Rs 3.5 crore siphoned money frozen says CM

July 30 – Cybercrime Cell of Goa police has registered 298 cases in 4.5 years from Jan 2020 to June 2024. The cell has been able to freeze siphoned money to the tune of Rs 3.5 crore in cyber fraudsters account, CM Sawant informed the house today. The money will be subsequently transferred back to the victims account. Sawant further informed that cybercrime complaints can be given at any police station across Goa and also through helpline 1930. He also spelt out plans to strengthen the Cybercrime lab for more effective investigation.
