Digital Goa, Jan 30 – The 30 days cattle vaccination program to control Foot and Mouth Disease will commence in Goa from Feb 1. Cattle and buffalo population including stray animals will be vaccinated during the drive. Pre and post vaccination sera samples will be collected from selected villages to ascertain the immune status of the herd. All the vaccinated animals will be eartagged for identification and the details will be uploaded on Information Network For Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) Portal. Foot and Mouth Disease is a highly contagious disease causing economic losses in milk production, draught power, growth and reproduction.
