The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has floated a Request for Selection (RfS) on Feb 13,2026 to set up a 300 MW Solar PV project integrated with a 150 MW/900 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Goa. The project will be implemented on a 25-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis to supply “firm and dispatchable” power to the Goa Electricity Department (GED), especially during peak hours from 6 pm to 9 am. It will be connected to the STU network at the nearest 220 kV substation, with the developer responsible for transmission lines, a pooling substation, and grid upgrades. A minimum of 650 acres of contiguous land is required. Eligible bidders must have 10 years’ experience, commissioned 300 MW of solar capacity, and a net worth of ₹1,000 crore. An EMD of ₹5 crore and PBG of ₹15 crore are mandatory. The project must be completed within 24 months of signing the PPA.
Incidentally, in July 2025, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited(NTPC REL) had signed an MoU with GEDA to develop 300 MW of renewable energy capacity in Goa, and later floated a separate EPC tender for a similar solar project.
