Digital Goa, Dec 16 – Goa govt has geared its machinery for speedy disposal of 3,500 odd Mundkarial cases. Land upto 300 sq mtr in which the house of the Mundkar is located will be transferred in his/her name using provisions under Mundkarial Act, provided the house has been built prior to 1970, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. All Mamlatdar and Dy Collectors have been ordered to dispose of Mundkarial cases on priority. In the Mundkarial cases, the house is in the name of the Mundkar while the land is in the name of the landlord. Sawant said that during review it was found that 2000 such cases exist in North Goa and 1500 in South Goa. For the next 3 months, corresponding officials will be available at their respective offices on Saturdays to expedite handling of such cases, CM added. He said the process of transfer of land has also been simplied. The prerequisites are – the house has to be built before 1970, house has to be registered in the name of the Mundkar, the name will have to have to appear in form I & XIV as well as on light or water bill and the name should be on voting list with the house number in question. By using any one of the above documents, a Mundkar can apply for transfer of land in his/her name. The Mamlatdar processing the case has also been given the authority to pass the purchase order. Once the purchase order is made and the payment process is complete, the sanad will be given. After this the process of regularization of the house will be taken up. Sawant said that govt has taken the decision to expedite the Mundkarial cases to prevent age old houses of Mundkars being demolished by the landowners by taking the matter to the Courts. Once the Mundkarial cases are cleared tenancy cases will also be expedited, he added.
