The Goa Cabinet has cleared the creation of a third district comprising the talukas of Quepem, Sanguem, Canacona, and Dharbandora, with Curchorem as its headquarters.
Here is my studied opinion, published six months ago, explaining why carving out a third district in a small state like Goa—already smaller than neighbouring districts in terms of both area and population—is a bad idea.
