Digital Goa, Oct 27 – Four Colvale State Central jail officials have been suspended for permitting jail inmates to use firecrackers and burn the effigy of Ravana in the prison premises as part of Dussehra festival celebration. Inspector General of Prisons has reportedly suspended an assistant superintendent, two jailers and one assistant jailer for dereliction of duties. IG Prison has also sought explanation from the officials concerned regarding the incident. The action was initiated after video of the celebration went viral on social media.
