62-year-old Kerala man held for duping Porvorim resident of ₹69.75 lakh in investment scam

Digital Goa, Dec 12 – Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police has arrested Prasantha Bose, a 62-year-old resident of Ernakulam, Kerala, for cheating a Porvorim resident of ₹69.75 lakh through a fake online investment scheme. Police said the accused, using a WhatsApp number and an allegedly bogus trading app named 360-ONE-HNW, impersonated a reputed investment firm and convinced the victim that his investment had grown to ₹5 crore, prompting him to pay “service fees” to release the profits. Probes revealed that ₹46 lakh from the fraud was funnelled through his bank account, which is linked to 23 other cyber fraud cases across multiple states involving ₹2.10 crore. He has been remanded to police custody, and further investigation is underway.
