65,000 trees to be planted at Sonsodo under green drive

Digital Goa, June 5 – Goa government has announced plans to plant 65,000 trees at Sonsodo, a site previously known as a legacy dump yard, as part of its ambitious afforestation initiative. Forest The move is part of the EkPedMaaKeNaam campaign, which aims to plant five lakh trees across the state over the next 3 to 4 months. Phase 1 of the drive began on Thursday with the planting of 500 trees at Sonsodo. Phase 2 is scheduled to begin in August, with a dedicated nodal officer to oversee smooth execution and continuous monitoring.
