Digital Goa, Dec 14 – An elderly pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident at Varchavaddo, Arambol, Pernem, on December 13, 2025. A pick-up vehicle going from Arambol towards Korgao hit Govind Vasudev Narse (78), a resident of Bhatwadi, Korgao, Pernem, who was walking on the left side of the road with the aid of a bamboo stick. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was later declared brought dead at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Tuem. Police said the accused driver, identified as Javed Khan (53), a resident of Valpoi, Sattari, allegedly fled the scene after the accident, leaving the vehicle behind without providing medical assistance to the injured person or informing the police.
