Cadre strength of IPS officers in AGMUT cadre increased from 8 to 10 for Goa

Jan 7 – The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has enhanced the cadre strength of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in the AGMUT cadre in Goa from 8 to 10. State will now have two more posts allocated for IPS Officers – Additional Director General Of Police and Superintendent Of Police-Anti Narcotics Cell. The other posts in the cadre include DGP, IGP, Dy IGP-Range, Dy IGP CID Intelligence, SP North, SP South, SP CID/Crime Branch and SP Training/Traffic. The Union Ministry has enhanced the total cadre strength of IPS officers in the AGMUT cadre from 457 to 532. The number of seats for induction into IPS has also been increased from 139 to 161, specifies a notification issued in this regards by the Ministry. The cadre strength of IPS officers in the AGMUT cadre has also been changed for other states but the number of posts under Govt of Goa continue to be the same i.e. 23. However, in place of Director of Transport, Director of Environment post will be assigned to IAS officer. The Ministry has also notified amendment to pay rules of IAS officers in AGMUT Cadre.
