High Court upholds Speaker’s order, disposes Chodankar’s case in 8 MLA disqualification case

Jan 15- High Court today upheld the order of the Speaker regarding dismissing disqualification petition against 8 erstwhile Congress MLAs who had defected to BJP and disposed of the petition filed by GPCC President Girish Chodankar in this regards. The petition has been disposed of and High Court has upheld the order of the Speaker in terms of the earlier judgement related to disqualification petition against 10 MLAs who had defected to BJP during previous term of the party’s govt. 10 MLAs had defected from Congress to BJP that time. Path is now cleared for Congress to approach the apex court to seek justice in the matter.
