Jan 19- Info Tech Corporation Of Goa (ITG) has floated Rs 7.64 crore worth tender for Construction of New Libraries (Container Type) for Children and Adolescents with Digital Infrastructure in the State. The tender is for Civil, Internal Electrification, HVAC,Interior and Allied Works. The project is taken up through Central funding for ‘National Digital Library for Children and Adolescents’. Funds have been allotted for Goa to develop 78 new libraries with digital infrastructure in Gram Panchayats across Goa. Renovation of 79 existing libraries in village panachayats and 11 existing buildings at municipalities to set up the digital libraries will also be taken up as part of the project. Center has given a mandate to complete the projects by March, 2025. In order to achieve the deadline, ITG has appointed five Architects cum Project Management Consultants for Bicholim, Salcette and Mormugao Talukas for preparing the estimates, tendering and execution of the works in the form of “Packages.” The libraries are expected to have computers, other reading devices and also a mini conference room. The directorate of art and culture is tasked with identifying the locations for the libraries, while the Info Tech Corporation of Goa is the implementing agency and will oversee the design and project management.
