Feb 5 – Trade Unions in Goa held a protest at Azad Maidan in Panaji to denounce the Union Budget which they termed as anti-working class. The protest in Goa was in response to a nationwide protest call given by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and national trade unions. “There is no respite for ordinary citizen in the budget,” alleged Trade Union Leader Suhas Naik. The budget is creamy layer centric and favours corporate interests while overlooking other sections of the society including workers, farmers etc, he added.
