Digital Goa, Feb 26 – State Agriculture Dept has amended its State Sector Scheme – Assistance for Creation of Irrigation Infrastructure, offering 75% subsidy for digging and constructing irrigation wells, with an additional Rs 10,000 incentive if linked to a Micro Irrigation system. For water storage ponds/tanks, farmers will receive 50% subsidy, increasing to 75% if integrated with micro irrigation, capped at Rs 1.5 lakh per unit. Eligible farmers must own at least 0.125 hectares with 0.10 hectares under cultivation and be listed in the Krishi Card abstract. Private companies can also apply if their Memorandum of Association includes agriculture/horticulture activities.
