Digital Goa, May 13 – Police have arrested two persons in connection with the fire that broke out three days ago at an old laterite quarry in Chanimol, Costi. The accused include a resident of Mirabag and a contractor from Navelim. The fire, caused by chemical and medical waste dumped at the site, was finally extinguished today by the Fire and Emergency Services. Local residents were evacuated due to heavy smoke. Police are investigating the case further.
