Digital Goa, June 20 – Mapusa Merchants Association (MMA) has threatened a complete shutdown of the Mapusa Municipal Market on Monday, June 23 if the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC) fails to address their demands regarding what they term an “unjust” sanitation fees. The traders have given the Council time until June 22 to act, warning that if their grievances are not resolved, they will voluntarily and peacefully shut their shops the next day. Essential services, however, will remain unaffected due to their agitation, they clarified. Revision of the sanitation fee, no retrospective charges for the past five years are some of their demands.
