Digital Goa, June 27 – Goa Police have busted an interstate ATM swapping racket and arrested two accused—Sanjay Maheswal (33) and Sonu Kumar (32), both from Hisar, Haryana—after they cheated a senior citizen of Rs 40,000 in Bicholim. The duo targeted senior citizens under the guise of helping them and deceitfully exchanged their ATM cards, later withdrawing money from their accounts using the swapped ATMs. They were arrested near Prema Guest House, Calangute. Police recovered 23 ATM cards and one of the scooters used in the crime. During the investigation, it was revealed that the same accused duo had committed a similar ATM card swapping offence in Panaji on June 26, cheating another victim of Rs 1.17 lakh.
