Digital Goa, August 8 – The 15-day monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly concluded today after transacting a significant amount of business. Despite being only seven in number, opposition MLAs grilled the government on various commissions and omissions, exposing several irregularities over the two-week period. Several important resolutions, including the regularisation of unauthorised structures, were tabled and passed. The House functioned for a total of 135.36 hours. In all, 4,226 questions were tabled—896 starred (75 of which were discussed) and 3,330 unstarred. Total 180 zero hour mentions were made and 30 calling attentions were discussed. As part of an outreach initiative, around 12,000 students from 260 educational institutions visited the Assembly to witness the proceedings.
