Cabinet clears Koti Tirth Corridor project on 10,000 sqr mtr land at Diwar as memorial for 1,000 temples destroyed by Portugues

Koti Tirth Corridor will be developed on a 10,000 sq mtr plot of Archaeology Department land at Narve, Diwar, where the ruins of the Saptakoteshwar temple are located, informed CM Pramod Sawant. Sawant said the project, to be executed by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), will serve as a memorial for 1,000 temples destroyed by the Portuguese. “The temple will belong to the whole of Goa,” Sawant said. The state cabinet gave its approval for the project today. He further informed that the Archaeology Department was tasked with documenting the details of the 1,000 destroyed temples and has submitted its report.
