Court asks Goa govt to reconcile illegal construction data ahead of Nov 13 hearing

Digital Goa, Sept 29– High Court has scheduled the next hearing on suo motu PIL concerning illegal constructions across the state on November 13. The matter came for hearing today. Advocate General Pangam told the court that the recent passage of three new laws covering structures on Communidade land, government land, and the regularisation of such structures will affect the implementation of the Court’s demolition orders, as these laws provide legal protection to several of these structures. High Court has asked the Goa govt along with the amicus curie to prepare some modalities by virtue of which court can be informed about the exact position as far as compliances are concerned. Goa govt will attempt to compile the information and also prepare a proper note or synopsis to be presented in court, he added.
