Rain claims first victims; mother son duo die due to tree fall at Betki

Digital Goa, June 11 – In a tragic incident, 36-year-old mother and her 10-year-old son died after a huge tree came crashing on the shade near their house at Betki near Marcel, under which they were standing. The deceased are identified as Anjali Wadkar and her son. They were shifted to PHC Betki in critical condition where they were declared brought dead. The tree is likely to have been uprooted due to loosening of the soil due to the rains. The incident occurred around 7 pm. The shade on which the tree fell was next to their house and there was one car and 2 two-wheelers inside the shade.
