Digital Goa, Oct 13 – Cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar announced that the state’s cooperative sector recorded a turnover of ₹13,523 crore in 2023-24, up from ₹9,923 crore in 2022-23, marking a significant rise in financial performance. Audit for financial year 2024-25 is underway, he informed. There are around 1,000 active credit societies including dairy and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and credit banks, he added. He further announced that a MoU has been signed with Tribhuvan University to introduce certification and degree programmes in cooperative studies, aimed at enhancing education and skill development in the sector. Briefing the media, Shirodkar informed that Cooperation Day will be celebrated on November 1, followed by Cooperation Week from November 14 to 20, featuring various programmes across Goa.
