Digital Goa, Oct 22, 2025 – A Vasco resident was allegedly cheated by a woman to the tune of Rs 1.33 crore in an investment fraud. Amrit Govind Sakhalkar from Vasco has alleged that Bhushra Khanam Zara Khanam cheated him of Rs 1.33 crore. The complaint further adds that Khanam used the funds for personal purposes and threatened him with false rape allegations when he sought information. Between March and October 2025, Khanam reportedly persuaded Sakhalkar to invest in agricultural and hotel projects promising high returns. Despite transferring the money through cheques and other bank transactions, he did not receive any documents or details about the investments, states the complaint.
