Digital Goa, October 27 – MGP leader from Ponda, Dr Ketan Bhatikar, has announced that he will contest the upcoming Ponda by-election. Speaking to the media channel, Dr Bhatikar said, “I will contest as a BJP-MGP candidate or as an independent candidate. This is democracy, and the people of Ponda will decide who their representative should be.” His statement comes days after MGP supremo and Power Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar declared that the party would support the candidate decided by the BJP, and that the decision would be binding on all members of the MGP. The Ponda assembly seat fell vacant following the demise of senior leader and sitting MLA Ravi Naik.
