Attempt to kill offence registered against unknown in sand extraction firing incident

Digital Goa, Oct 28 – An offence has been registered against unknown persons for attempt to murder and illegal use of a firearm in the Poroscodem-Pernem firing case. One Ramrishi Paswan, a 54-year-old labourer from Bihar who was injured in the firing, has lodged a complaint at the Pernem police station. According to the complainant, he, along with others, had gone to extract sand from the Terekhol River at Ugvem, Pernem, when unidentified persons fired gunshots at him and his colleague, Lalbabu Goud from Bihar, with the intention to kill them. The complainant sustained bleeding injuries to his neck, while Lalbabu suffered bullet wounds to his right arm and the side of his stomach. Both victims are currently undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
