Four booked for murder in Morjim property dispute; main accused absconding

Digital Goa, Nov 6 – Mandrem Police have registered a murder case against four persons in connection with the death of 63-year-old Umakant Khot at Morjim on Wednesday. Three of the accused have been arrested, while the search is on for the main conspirator. According to the police, the murder was the result of a property dispute. The owner of the property, Ashok Kumar Nedurumali, allegedly conspired with his three employees — Lokesh from Bengaluru, Rohit Kumar Prajapati and Viji Sappan from Tamil Nadu — to assault Khot, who was a tenant on the premises. All four have been booked for murder. The three staff members have been arrested, while Nedurumali remains absconding. Local residents had threatened to launch an agitation if an FIR was not registered by today, alleging that the police were attempting to shield the accused after the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon.
