Digital Goa, November 27 – Goa Department of Environment and Climate Change has issued an order authorising Legal Metrology officers of inspector rank and above to enforce key provisions of the Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1996, particularly those linked to the Deposit Refund System (DRS). The officers will now have powers to inspect, enter premises or vehicles, examine documents, seize products violating the DRS rules, and initiate action where required. They may also return seized products if the violator complies within 15 days by affixing the required Unique System Identifier (USI).
