Digital Goa, Dec 3 – A 49-year-old woman, identified as Vasanti Salelkar from Karapur, died after receiving an electric shock at her residence on Tuesday afternoon. Police said she collapsed after touching a metal door that had become live due to a damaged insulated wire used to power a bulb from one room to another. As per police a junior engineer from the electricity department inspected the spot and confirmed the wire insulation had worn out from repeated opening and closing of the door, causing current to pass through the metal frame. Incidentally, her death occurred on a disputed property. The incident is under investigation, with family members and local leaders demanding a thorough inquiry suggesting potential foul play over property matters.
