Digital Goa, Dec 26 – Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of media reports on an eviction notice issued by the Socorro Village Panchayat to the family of an accused in a sexual abuse case involving a six-year-old child, raising concerns of possible human rights violations. The Commission has directed the Panchayat Secretary to file a detailed report or reply in the matter and has summoned the panchayat to appear before it, in person or through an authorised representative, on January 6, 2026.
