Six more mining blocks to be auctioned in February 2026

Digital Goa, Jan 2 – CM Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that six more mining blocks will be auctioned in February 2026 as part of the state’s efforts to revive mining activities. Speaking to media persons after a review meeting on mining, Sawant informed that the government will also commence the second phase of auctioning of mining dumps later this month. Sawant said that 12 mining blocks have been auctioned so far, of which five have already commenced operations, while four are on the verge of starting mining activities. With regard to private dumps, Sawant said that letters have already been issued to four entities, enabling them to begin dump-related operations. Under the government’s dump policy, first phase of auctioning has been completed, and the second phase will begin this month, he added.
