Digital Goa, January, 2 – Asserting that Panaji ferry ramp area is not designated for parking, RND Minister Subhash Phal Desai assured strict steps to prevent illegal parking, particularly by casino vehicles. He said the department will coordinate with the Traffic Department and has already written to the police department. “We cannot remove the vehicles on our own,” the minister said, stressing the need for coordinated enforcement. Following yesterday’s incident in which a car parked during low tide got submerged during high tide at the Panaji–Betim ferry ramp, RND has decided to deploy a permanent security guard at the Panaji side within a month. RND Director Vikramsinh Rajebhosale said the ramp is currently unmanned and electricity department employees, visitors, tourists, casinos etc park vehicles there illegally.
