Digital Goa, Jan 13 – Water Resources Minister Subhash Faldessai on Tuesday assured the Goa Legislative Assembly that the long-standing water scarcity in the Mormugao constituency will be fully resolved by April 2026. Replying to a question on the floor of the house, the minister said a ₹443-crore water supply project is in its final phase. Mormugao’s daily water requirement is 81 MLD, while the current supply is around 77–78 MLD. He noted that technical issues and elevated terrain cause intermittent disruptions. The project includes new pipelines and a dedicated reservoir, which will ensure adequate water supply to all areas once completed, he claimed.
