Digital Goa, Jan 26 – Villagers from Chimbel have issued a strong warning of a massive agitation demanding that the proposed Unity Mall project be scrapped. Declaring a “Maha Andolan – Karo Ya Maro”, the villagers announced that the protest will be held on January 30 in Panaji. The protest will continue till CM Sawant announces scrapping of the project, villagers asserted. They claimed that thousands of people are expected to participate in the Maha Andolan , terming it a decisive movement against the project. Meanwhile, villagers who tried walking towards the venue of the state-level Republic Day celebration at Goa University ground, were stopped by police today.
