Digital Goa, Feb 2 – The Goa government will set up a new medical college in Pernem block, CM Pramod Sawant announced during the inauguration of the Tuem Hospital on Monday. The proposed medical college will function under the jurisdiction of the Tuem hospital and will significantly boost healthcare services and medical education in Pernem. Sawant also urged young Goan doctors to serve in rural areas, adding that the government would facilitate the onboarding of doctors through bond service. A Government of India–supported research unit is being established at the centre, which will further strengthen its academic and clinical potential, he further added.
