Digital Goa, Feb 3 – High Court will hear the suo motu petition related to the horrific Birch by Romeo Lane fire incident on February 16 and is expected to pass orders. Court has accepted Goa government’s suggestion, that those responsible for the fire incident should be made to pay compensation to families of those who lost their lives in the horrific incident. The court has asked officials to compile a list of assets and properties of those responsible for the fire, including the owner Luthra brothers, former Arpora-Nagoa Sarpanch, and former panchayat secretary etc. AG Devidas Pangam said the government will also present the Supreme Court decided formula for calculating quantum of compensation in such cases. The court will take up the matter in two weeks and also pass the orders, he added.
