Luthra brothers granted conditional bail in Birch fire case : Counsel

    Digital Goa, April 1 – Gaurav and Saurav Luthra have been granted conditional bail by a court in connection with the main case , December 6, 2025 Birch fire incident at Arpora that had claimed 25 lives. Luthra brother’s Counsel Parag Rao confirmed that the bail was granted on a surety of ₹50,000 along with an equal amount bail bond. “Finally it has been granted. It is a conditional bail, with usual conditions. We do not have a copy of the judgment yet. It has been pronounced,” Rao said speaking to media persons today, April 1. Responding to queries on the other alleged forgery case involving fake NOC case, Rao stated that the defence is not pursuing anticipatory bail and has instead filed a regular bail application before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa. The brothers are currently in Mapusa Police custody in the fake NOC case as JMFC had on March 30 remanded them to five days of police custody for further investigation. The brothers were arrested after the inferno of Dec 6,2025 at Birch by Romeo Lane night club at Arpora which had claimed the lived of 25 persons. Gaurav and Saurav Luthra were arrested on December 16, 2025, at the Delhi airport by Goa Police after being deported from Thailand. They had fled India shortly after a fire incident. They currently face charges for culpable homicide and forging government documents to operate the club. Over 4000 pages chargesheet has been filed by the police in the matter.
