Unique Puran farming practice recreated in Sattari after four decades

Following a successful experiment by Dr. Prakash Paryekar in Dhave-Sattari last year, four more Puran farms have come up in the region. For centuries, hundreds of Puran farms existed along the banks of the Mhadei River in Sattari. However, due to the difficulty of preparing the beds and fencing, the practice was discontinued about 40 years ago.
