TCP proposes conversion of over 82 lakh sq m land for No Development Zone under Section 39-A; public feedback sought

Digital Goa, May 08 – Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has rescinded the proposed conversion of three land parcels in Aldona from part of “Playground” area to “Settlement Zone,” following objections raised by villagers and local representatives. The decision, notified by Chief Town Planner on May 6, halts the proposed change of zone for nearly 6,351 square metres of land that was earlier recommended for conversion under Section 39-A of the TCP Act. The withdrawn proposal had covered Survey No. 320/2 (part) measuring 537 sq m, Survey No 320/3 (part) measuring 1,953 sq m and Survey No. 318/4 (part) measuring 3,861 sq m. The TCP Board formalised the withdrawal during its 232nd meeting held on May 4. Aldona locals had opposed the move to convert the playground area into settlement zone.
